WHAT: Rancho Bernardo High Football Team, Athletes and Advocates challenge
WHEN: 1800 hrs May 19 (Armed Forces Day) to 0700 hrs May 20.
WHERE: Rancho Bernardo High School, San Diego, CA

The RB Hi Football team will create teams of 12 individuals from the student body and other teams. Also participating will be members of the University of San Diego NROTC. This is a team relay event and at least one member of each team must be running on the football stadium track for the duration of the 12 hour event.

WAYS TO DONATE:

1. Team Red White and Blue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Any donation is appreciated and can be made at the First Giving website listed below. Receipts for donations will be automatically generated. (any donation amount is appreciated)
2. Sponsor a team–add a note to your First Giving donation of $250, and you will sponsor one of the participating teams.
3. Purchase an Official Sponsor banner for $500. The banners will be displayed around the football field during the event, and the banner and miniature replica banners will be presented to the sponsors following the event.

The “Event”: The event begins at 1800 hrs (6PM), May 19. The first hour will be one of introduction and ceremony. Navy ROTC will be presenting colors and the National Anthem. Navy Leapfrogs will be parachuting into the stadium. Current TRWB advocates and partnered vets will be on hand to tell their story.

The banners will depict a wounded vet and their partnered TRWB advocate.
Team RWB’s motto: It’s Our Turn—besides fundraising, the goal of the event is to provide students with the opportunity to give back and understand the sacrifice made by our nation’s military. The will learn the significance of the motto and own “It’s Our Turn”.

Rancho Bernardo High School has annually supported the military and wounded warriors with their Wounded Warriors fundraising effort during a home football game.

4)      We have four fundraisers simultaneously occurring right now.  Anything you can do to support these efforts is appreciated.

1. Lift-a-thon: players are getting people to donate a penny for every pound they lift on May 16.
2. Beggar Letter: players will mail out at least 10 letters provided to them, asking for donations to help cover the costs of our program.
3. Wings-N-Things: This restaurant is offering 20% back to our program if you dine there on May 9.

The program has only one GMail (or Google Apps) account to manage all the calendars described below. One concept for the site is that each team has its own “identity” on the site, largely to build a sense of “team” among Frosh and JV players and parents, in particular. So for example, Frosh players and parents can see the Frosh schedule without a lot of extra, irrelevant, and sometimes confusing, events that are only for the JV and Varsity teams. There are five calendars on the site with the following purposes:

• Upcoming Events on right side of the Home Page (and most other pages).  A list of upcoming events that are relevant to all teams, players, parents, and fans, including, for example, all games, fundraisers, and booster club meetings.
• Varsity Team Calendar.  All Varsity team events, which are of interest only to Varsity team players and parents.
• JV Team Calendar.  All JV team events, which are of interest only to JV team players and parents.
• Frosh Team Calendar.  All Frosh team events, which are of interest only to Frosh team players and parents.
• Booster Club Calendar.  All Booster Club events such as meetings and fundraisers.

These five site calendars are aggregate views of the following eight Google Calendars,as described below and depicted in the figure on the left.

• Boosters Club Calendar. This is for Boosters Club events. These events appears on the site’s Boosters Club Calendar and the Upcoming Events list, not the football calendars.
• Program Calendar. this calendar is for events relating to all football players. It will appear on all the football calendars. Examples might be Dead Week or the Bronco Card fundraiser, that would be the same for all teams. By default, calendar appears on the Frosh, JV, and Varsity calendars that come up on the site, but NOT the GIC calendar. You would never really look at this calendar by itself, it would be merged with the Varsity, JV or Frosh calendar when you see it on the site.
• Varsity Team Calendar. Varsity team events, including practices, team meetings, team dinners, and so forth, that are of interest only to Varsity players and parents.  These events appear only on the site’s Varsity Team Calendar; therefore,  Varsity Games do not go on this calendar.
• Varsity Games. The Varsity Games appear on the site’s Varsity Team Calendar and Upcoming Events list.
• JV Team Calendar. JV team events, including practices, team meetings, team dinners, and so forth, that are of interest only to JV players and parents.  These events appear only on the site’s JV Team Calendar; therefore,  JV Games do not go on this calendar.
• JV Games. The JV Games appear on the site’s Varsity Team Calendar and Upcoming Events list.
• Frosh Team Calendar. Frosh events only. Frosh team events, including practices, team meetings, team dinners, and so forth, that are of interest only to Frosh players and parents.  These events appear only on the site’s Frosh Team Calendar; therefore,  Frosh Games do not go on this calendar.
• Frosh Games. The Frosh Games appear on the site’s Frosh Team Calendar and Upcoming Events list.

This calendar structure is set up and configured for the team upon installation. If the program already has a GMail account, it may be used. Otherwise one will be created and its calendars configured as above. The calendar structure may be reconfigured by the site’s administrator after installation.

* This site Users Guide does not provide any support for using Google Calendars. While they are fairly simple and intuitive to use, there are some things to know to use them effectively. See Google Calendar Help for more than you would ever want to know about managing Google Calendars.

One important agenda item is a vote on revisions to the Gridiron Club By-laws. Those planning to attend the meeting are encouraged to review the proposed revision to the by-laws prior to the meeting. The club’s Articles of Organization are also available for review.
