Please remember to attend our GIC Meeting Tuesday March 19 at 7:00pm in room E-15. Coach McCoy will also be giving out information regarding the opportunity to play College Football.

On another note, 6 week grades are in for our Sophomores and Juniors, and we have some good news to share. 23 of players earned a 3.0 GPA or higher. 5 earned a 4.0 or higher. And 4 brought the grades up from under a 2.5 to over a 2.5. Unfortunately 5 of our players still have under a 2.5 GPA, and will be placed on the F.A.S.T. program until they bring their grades up. Congratulations to all of our players who have been working hard in the classroom, and setting themselves up for success in their future!

Banquets:

Coordinator Wrap ups:
Fundraiser, Cookie Lee interested in selling bling bracelets . Linda suggests getting all the work done in the summer so hit the big interest at the beginning of the season. She said we should definitely sell hats next year. Treasurer reports we only broke even so we may want to increase prices to make the work worthwhile. Beggar letters did not make much money, $595. We may want to make the kids more accountable next year.

End of season tailgate was so fun it should become a tradition. The boys seemed to really love it.
Banquet, coach says timing could be changed. Maybe doing during the season to avoid the lull. Maybe last week of season or first week of playoffs. It can be a pep for playoffs. And season starts a week earlier next year. Helen reports went only a little over budget, about $300. Boys like mini helmets and venue.
Nominations:
President, Lois Reid nominated by Mike Gaylord
Vice President, Mike Gaylord nominated by Linda Van Vark
Treasurer, Mike Jones nominated by all
Secretary, Linda VanVark nominated by Cindy Warner
Concessions, Gil Andersen nominated by all but may be moving out of state. Darlene Dunn willing co chair.

Coach McCoy:
Wants to thank the board for service. Especially in his first two years of coaching. Next year our goal is to get more folks involved and thinks the committees helps get more people involved. New jerseys are getting designed and Eugene Amano would love to see his money spent on that. But it is still only about half of what it would cost.
Anything else?

Dave Evenson crashed his computer and it was suggested GIC cover but as we pay for video and he is paid by KUSI. Maybe we buy him a hard drive? Something for the new board to consider.
Next board meeting is set for Tuesday, January 8th at 7 in Carp’s room E-16.

Treasurer’s Report

Starting Balance as of November 6, 2012 $37474.63 with outstanding checks of $8300.31 and misc deposits of $1097 so available balance of $30271.32. Eugene Amano’s check of $10000 went to GIC.

Old Business

Snack Bar:

$9651.22 cleared at snack bar. After buying grills too. Perishables to Programs office and Frosh then JV banquets after Varsity dinner on Friday.

Apparel:

Mostly black long sleeve shirts left for sale. Mostly larger sizes left. Linda will send an email to team liaisons to spread word of what is left to buy. Coach McCoy asked for some for coachs gifts as some coachs have only one shirt.

Banquets:

Varsity deposit paid. Need final roster.

Senior Night:

Went well and some pictures on Facebook and website but waiting on remainder.

Game Day Meals:

Cafasso Meatballs has been great. Even when change order from week to week.

Programs:

Turned in remaining revenue and $25 collected for OHarleys gift certificates. MamaCellas gift cert went over big and helped me sell programs. Check for $1000 received on September 1, 2012 from Sports Boosters. Karin will check on remainder $1000 as is due by end of year.

Drug Testing:

Tested about 32 kids from Soph to Senior over two separate testing dates. Next year will change waiver to protect Will’s organization as well. This year we had to have parent’s sign a second waiver. Some Frosh parents upset that no freshman tested. Karin will send out an email explaining that there was never a guarantee and GIC spent more than we took in for drug testing. Hopefully we will have a grant for future years.

New Business

Nominations:

Need nominations for next year’s Board in December. Please include in liason emails. Need whole board replaced. Voting at January meeting.

If park in the red zone at school any day or any hour you may get a ticket ($77.50) from police or security. This will be enforced from now on. Be warned.

Coach McCoy’s updates:

This was the one we wait for all year – the regular season finale – RB VS Poway. Even better was that the game lived up to its billing. Both sides came ready to play but it was the green Titans that scored first finding a gap in the Bronco defensive backfield for a twelve yard pass. With the kick Poway 7 RB 0

The Broncos came back with their own drive capping it off with a repeat of last week’s Vele to Garbarini combo strike for the their first score. Extra point was good. RB 7 Poway 7

Poway took the ensuing second half kick-off to the RB forty yard line and were in scoring position after the Broncos were hit for a “phantom” pass interference call. A few plays and a penalty later Poway punched it in. Titans 14 Broncos 7

That served as a wake- up call as the Broncos answered with a steady drive that included hard running by Bronco running back and downfield passes to Jeff Molino. Broncos tied it with a one yard plunge.

After a tough Bronco defensive stand, they had the ball again but a costly penalty meant that they had to depend on Shane Modlin’s lead toe for thirty yard field goal. RBHS 17 Poway 14

The Broncos got the ball back after their defense stuffed the Titans again. Poway tried to extend the game in hopes of getting one more shot by using their time-outs, but a Bronco first down put an end to that wish. The final score: Rancho Bernardo Broncos 17 Poway Titans 14

Wining five of their last six games, the Bronco freshman finished the season with a respectable 5 and 5 record.

Thank you players and coaches for a great first year.
