The Bronco Cards Have Arrived!

Players should have received a stack of Bronco Cards today at practice.   This fundraiser is key for the football program to remain self-sufficient despite a lack of funds from the district and state.  In addition, it is key for the program to be able to keep our costs low for parents.  It takes roughly $30,000/year to run the football program, and we hope that this fundraiser can bring in $12,000.   Therefore, it is hugely important for all participants on our teams to help by doing their share.  What we are asking is that each player sell 10 Bronco Cards, at $20 each.

There are several incentives:

10 Cards: Free Bronco Card to sell and keep the cash, and no stadiums for that week.
15 Cards: Another Bronco Card and a Money Bag draw.
20 Cards: All of the previous and a free Spirit Pack.
30 Cards: All of the previous and free Prom ticket.
The winning team gets a free lunch and day off from conditioning.

By next Wednesday, we’d like players to have sold at least 5.   By July 18, we hope each player has sold 10.  On that date, we will have our Community “BLITZ“, in which we head out into the neighborhood, wearing out Bronco Gear, and try to sell as many last minute cards.  We will need some parents to help drive players around that night.  So if you’d like to help out, please contact me.  We have done this for 20 years, and think it’s a good way to build team and program camaraderie, and help players learn some communication and sales skills!

It is also important to know that each player is responsible for the cards, which have a $200 value.   In other words, we hope that they are able to sell all their cards.  If they are not, however, we must have the cards returned to us.  If they have misplaced the cards, then cash is required.

Lastly, in case you’re asked, all checks should be made out to RBHS Gridiron Club.
