JV Football Bus Transportation

    Attention JV Football Parents:

We have been told by the PUSD transportation department that any district bus driver must leave a school site no later than 9:15 pm when transporting football teams on Friday night. If teams are unable to meet this deadline, then charter buses will be ordered and the site will be responsible for paying the cost. Using charter buses increases our costs from $125/bus (when traveling within the district) to anywhere between $400-800/bus. So, the decision has been made that the JV football team will return to RBHS immediately following their away games on Friday nights. Coach Terribilini will return with the team and be responsible for the boys.

If your son wishes to stay to watch the varsity game, then you will need to provide him transportation home at the conclusion of game. Please go to our website (rbhs.org), click on “Athletics”, then click on the drop-down choice of “schedules/forms”. Here you will find the “Alternate Transportation Request” form…..fill it out (and you can put all 5 away games on the same request!) completely and return to my office. Upon receiving your completed form, your request will be approved.

I realize this is short notice for this Friday’s game, but your prompt attention will be greatly appreciated. Your son may come home with another parent, but if so, please indicate as such on the form. Any athlete who does not turn in a request form will be required to return to RB on the bus at the conclusion of the game…….no exceptions!

Thank you for your continued support of Bronco Football. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me directly.

Respectfully,

Peggy Brose

If you did not get you season tickets at the Fall Sports Parent Information Night tonight, you may purchase them at the athletics office anytime between 7:15 am and 3:30 pm on weekdays. It is always good to call first or at the least avoid the hours of noon to 1:30 as lunchtime is usually more hectic! Ask for Rhonda Ewald.

The Psychology of Sport - A Workshop for Parents

How parents can use the strategies and techniques in sport psychology to help their athlete navigate competitive athletics…and come out on top.

The RBHS Foundation is sponsoring this workshop on September 13th from 6:30 to 8:30pm in the RBHS Library Projection Room. This workshop will teach the latest techniques and strategies for mental skills training that parents can apply at home. These practical techniques will enable you to help your athlete develop a foundation that they can build on to perform with more efficiency, confidence, and enjoyment. This workshop is designed to help you support your athlete’s mental game and give you the tools necessary to assist them on their athletic journey to success. Topics covered:

  • Diet, Nutrient and Hydration
  • Brain function…what is really going in the minds of our athletes
  • Practice and performance preparation that parents can do at home
  • Goal setting for your athlete
  • How to help your athlete handle adversity and develop coping skills
  • Managing multiple sport and club sport athletes…time management, burnout, and motivation
  • Q & A Session
